We work with pre-K to third-grade literacy development, adult literacy, and students with disabilities, including dyslexia, as well as accelerated learners in one-on-one or small group tutoring. Our business provides additional services, such as small summer reading boot camps that meet the Common Core State Standards. We also offer virtual tutoring, assessments, and in-class evaluations.

How Our Tutoring Company Began
Dr. McCoy's passion for literacy, writing and coaching led her to work with urban schools and start her own business that addresses the needs of school-age children as well as adults. She focuses on building strong personal relationships with her students, identifying their needs, and crafting individualized plans that maximize their success.
Our History
REC began as a small, independent tutoring service in 2022. Our founder, Dr. McCoy, started her career as a public school teacher who believed in the power of education that enables students to reach their full potential.
Upon recognizing the value of personalized attention in supporting emergent readers, Dr. McCoy established REC. It has a tutoring division that provides the best possible one-on-one and small-group support to students whose needs range from experiencing decoding difficulties to having a significant learning difference.
REC has helped hundreds of students realize their optimum potential by creating an environment of trust, respect, and high expectations.
